Our most important amenity is a big one. Enormous, even. Cox Bay—Canada’s favourite surf beach—is right in our backyard, and we’ve got over 800 feet of access. Every site at Surf Grove Campground is just a short stroll from sand and surf, so getting your boards, chairs, umbrellas and other gear to the beach and back is easy peasy. Family & Pet Friendly
We’re a family campground—which means we welcome kids of all ages and pets of all kinds. Better yet, we have special features just for them—like our driftwood playground and a beachside rinse-off station (for the pets, and maybe the kids?). Please note that there’s a $20 fee per pet. No charge for the kids.
Cedar Barrel Saunas
We don’t say ‘camping, elevated’ for nothing. These One Of A Kind barrel saunas are locally made here on Vancouver Island. Need to warm up? To chill out? Sounds like you could use a sauna session.
Ukee Poke
If you missed Ukee Poke at the junction on your way in (if you know you know), we have excellent news for you. Our friends at Ukee Poke have opened a satellite location right here at Surf Grove. Guest or not, you’re welcome to get your poke fix at Ukee Poke’s on-property food truck.
Tofino E-bike Rentals
The Pacific Rim area is a bikers’ paradise. If you’re interested in exploring our gorgeous surroundings on two wheels (but didn’t bring your bike), Tofino E-bikes has you covered. Rent an electric bike right here at Surf Grove.

Communal Firepit
You may have heard: it rains here, and not infrequently. For those soggy days when it’s hard to get a fire going — or for periods when campfire bans are in effect — we’ve got the next best thing. Our sheltered propane firepit is like a sunken seventies living room, made for mingling with your fellow campers. If you’re inclined to (or interested in) surfing, be sure to check out our installation: retired boards from local legends of all ages, plus stories from each.
Amenities for Surfers
With Cox Bay right on our doorstep, Surf Grove is the best base in town for those wanting to catch a few waves. We’re surfers ourselves, so we know exactly the kinds of amenities surfers want and need. New to the sport? Our on-site Pacific Surf Company, surf shack has you covered with lessons and rentals.
Washroom Facilities
When we set out to elevate camping in Tofino, one thing was very clear: our facilities needed to be something special, inside and out. Most importantly, they’re well-maintained and clean — we make sure of it. If they gave out awards for nicest campground bathrooms, we would like our chances.
