Hello Campers,

Thank you for taking the time to read our Covid-19 Advisory and for your continued patience as we work to provide a safe environment for you to camp in Tofino. We are currently accepting new reservations and arrivals, and we ask that everyone follows all provincial requirements surrounding Covid-19. Please book online after carefully reading this advisory and accepting the terms by clicking the button at the bottom of this page. If you have any questions please email us at info@surfgrove.com

During Covid any new reservations that are created are subject to our standard cancellation policy, unless otherwise specified by Surf Grove staff. Our cancellation policy and all other policies can be found on our Policies Page

At Surf Grove we are doing everything within our ability to remain open and operating in the safest ways possible during the global Covid-19 pandemic. Our Covid-conscious camping operations have been structured upon all recommendations of the Provincial Health Services Authority. As per current Provincial requirements, masks are mandatory in all public indoor spaces on property, including the Guest Services office and all washroom buildings.

Please review the following questions before arriving:

  • Do any of the members of your travelling party have the following symptoms of COVID-19: fever, cough, difficulty breathing, diminished taste or smell, runny nose, sore throat, muscle or body aches?
  • Have any of your party had contact with a person with a confirmed or possible case of COVID-19 in the past 21 days?
  • Has anyone in your party travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days, or had contact with anyone that has just returned to Canada from abroad?

If you respond YES to any of the points above, we ask that you postpone travelling until the following conditions are met or until you have been tested for COVID-19 and have received a negative result:

  • At least 10 days have passed since the onset of symptoms; AND
  • Fever has resolved without the use of fever-reducing medication; AND
  • Symptoms (respiratory, gastrointestinal, and systemic) have improved.

If you responded NO to the points above and plan to travel to Tofino, it is important that you remain aware of special measures at Surf Grove Campground, and comply with recent changes to government regulations and guidelines regarding COVID-19.

At this time group camping is not recommended. In order to maintain proper social distancing measures, there is a recommended maximum of 6 people permitted on a site at any given time.

More on-site changes to operations include social distance check-ins, limited grocery items and supplies, no onsite surf lessons and rentals. Early check ins and late check outs are not permitted during this time, to allow our staff time to safely clean campsites before arrivals.

It is imperative that our guests behave in a socially responsible manner when it comes to the situation surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic. Tofino looks forward to welcoming guests, but we ask that everyone practices the same precautions that you would at home. Keeping in line with the same socially responsible procedures will ensure a healthy reintegration of tourism in Tofino and across Canada.

As Tofino is a remote community with limited healthcare services, all of our guests are required to adhere to our Covid-19 policies. In order to reduce traffic in high risk areas in town, we are asking that all of our guests do their shopping for basic groceries in their city of origin or in a larger city before arriving. If you have the need to shop for groceries while in Tofino please try shopping at our local artisan stores, such as Picnic Charcuterie or Gaia Grocery online, or by calling in your order. This is a critical action that will allow you more time on the beach, less time in a line, and reduce stress on our small community.

We can’t wait to welcome you to your new favourite Tofino campground. Wishing you all the best and good health!
